About: Lost Cabin is a small narrative heavy horror game demo. The player goes through a seemingly empty house solving puzzles and avoiding the dark. It was a small passion project developed by a small team remotely.
In this project I worked side by side with our programmer who was the only other person on the team. I designed the layout of the haunted house and created puzzles alongside writing a narrative reason for them. From there I worked on greybox creation, art passes, lighting and play testing in regards to the level design.
I finally also did work coding in blueprints for the flashlight in our prototype.
Takeaways: This was my first major project in Unreal Engine 4. It further increased my knowledge and skill set of the engine as well as its visual scripting component blueprints. Due to pandemic complications it had to be worked on entirely remotely. While it was a challenge, I managed to organize the project and see it to completion by coordinating with my team members. Which further boosted my team building skills.
